It's mainly translated as "Trials and Tribulations" into English - I looked it up a short while ago when I read the book. Love it, btw. A great choice :D
Oooh, and since I also tend to spend too much on books (though I don't think that it is too much in your case): having an income/spending list helps a lot, imho. Helped me a lot during my studies when my finances were even worse when they are now.
